About Me

Here’s a picture of my dog. She’s the best girl.

Hi, I’m Nicole.

Hi, I’m Nicole. This is my personal blog where I (try) to document things that I tried. as according to my NY resolution. As the blog title says, the idea behind all this is to try something new and grow.

Also, I paid for this URL.

2024: Learn

  • Try and memorize/learn 12 hymns (one for each month)
  • Reach A2 level CEFR language proficiency for both Indo and Japanese
    • Try to make 12 different foods related to Indo or Japanese culture
  • Read 12 books and document here
  • Remaining posts dedicated to food/other things

2023: Music

  • Try and memorize/learn 12 hymns, 12 praise songs, and 12 songs for fun on the piano (36 things)
  • Goal is to expand praise music/hymn library, develop an appreciation for hymns, and get in more piano practice along the way
  • Remaining 16 things would be dedicated to food, in honor of last year’s theme

2022: Food

  • Try and cook 52 different new things over the year
  • Goal is to be faster in moving around a kitchen, cook more, learn new things, and make use of the cookbooks I have.

P.S. Cookbook Reference List

I like using physical cookbooks, some more than others. Ones you’ll hear me mention a lot here are:
